Dear Shelley,

You are the first grandchild of my nuclear family. You are also my first niece and my sister's first child. You were the first child to steal my heart.

And you will always be first with me, but not because of your birth order. You are first with me because of who you are.

You are kind and forgiving, passionate and intelligent. You are the sweetest person I have ever met.

After every conversation with you, I feel better than I did before, which could only mean that your warmth and happiness are contagious.

Above it all is your solid gold heart--proving to all the world that you are your mother's child.

I am a better person for knowing you.

I love you, Shelley, and I am so proud of the person you have become, especially in light of the obstacles you have faced in your lifetime.

I know your mom is proud of you, too--smiling down on her little girl and thinking to herself, "I done good."

You are all grown up, Shelley-- happily married to a great guy and starting out on your new life.

But in my heart, you are my daughter now, and I will always be there for you.

You've had a beautiful wedding. Now comes the fun part (and also the hard part, the crazy part, and the glorious part)--the marriage.

I am confident that you are ready for it all, Shelley. I wish you both the best of luck, although as fortunate as you were in meeting each other, I don't think you'll need any luck at all.

Love, your uncle,

Bruce Hurley

Gary and Shelley
Got Married

Gary Douglas Farmer, Jr. and Shelley Marie Hall, tied the knot at a small ceremony in Winter Haven, Florida, on Saturday, November 15, 2003.

The wedding was perfect, the weather was great, the bride was beautiful, and everyone had a great time at the reception.

If you want full-size originals of these pictures (for printing), contact me and I will send you a CD with all the pictures and videos on it. I'll send it for free to anyone, but I would appreciate a small donation to your favorite charity, which I will match.

The files below are video montages pieced together from my digital camera's 30-second videos. They are large WMV files, so if you have dial-up, go watch The Simpsons or something while they're downloading. I've included approximate download times below each file.

To download these zip files, click on the link and after it downloads, double-click on the file to unzip it.

If you don't already have a zip program, you can download one for free at the link below. You will also need a media player to view these files. Most computers have one, but I've included a link to the latest one.

Contact me if you need any help.

This video contains snippets from the ceremony, including the wedding vows.
(11 mb / 40 min. dial-up / 1 min. broadband)

This video contains footage from just after the ceremony and from the reception.
(8 mb / 30 min. dial-up / 45 sec. broadband)

If you don't already have one (and you should), here is a free ZIP program to uncompress files.

Here you can download the most recent free
Windows Media Player for audio and video.

Happy bride and proud uncle.
